PROTESTS REJECTED

Considered Unwarranted By Germany (Received March 13, 7.30 p.m.) / Berlin, March 12. It is officially stated that the German Government has rejected the British and French protests as unwarranted. Official diplomatic correspondence states that the British and French protests are directed against German unity and thus against the principle of liberty, and fail to meet any understanding in Germany, being merely documents breathing a spirit which divides the world into unequal nations, thus preventing peace.

Official quarters in Berlin describe Britain’s protest 20 years too late. It is still denied that Germany sent an ultimatum to Dr. von Schuschnigg.
