Meeting Of Wellington Branch The activities of the Wellington branch of the Physical Education Society of New Zealand were referred to by the president. Jlr. 11. E. Longworth.’at the . annual meeting of the-society .recently. Public lectures under the auspices of the society'bad been given by the patron. Dr. A. Gillies and the chairman. Mr. J. A. Duffy, said Mr. Longworth. Miss H. Taylor had arranged for two films on physical education to be shown to members and those interested last year, and it was iiopcd that more films of this nature would be made available during the coming year. A number of practical evenings held in the Wellington College gymnasium bad proved a great success and members had gained a great 'leal by this interchange of ideas. Progress.had been made in the work of the national council of the society and the benefit gained by the uniti>’" of the four centres was already apparent. The society s feeling that' parents should support the schools by insisting that their children take part in organised games was the subject of a motion passed at the meeting. Because of the growing work in bls capacity as secretary to the national body, the Wellington secretary, Mr. C. A. Wil-son-Grant intimated that he would not be available for re-election, and a vote of thanks was passed for the services he had rendered. The following officers were elected : — Patron, Dr. A. Gillies; president, Mr. 11. E. Longworth; chairmau, Mr. J. A. Dully; secretary. Miss Ni Fleming; committee, Mrs.' L. D. Taylor, Miss H. Taylor, Mr. P. G. Thompson and Mr. C. A. Wilson-Grant.
