Fair To Fine At First, But Rain Developing From The South. Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. to-day. Though pressure is still high in the north the recent anti-cycione is moiim, eastward off the Dominion and a rather vigorous depiession is aj proaching across the Tasman Sea. Winds northerly to north-westerly, moderate to strong generally and iising at times to gale force in parts of the Cook and Foveaux Straits “} e “ s - A change to southerlies probable to-day in the southern portion ot the South Island. , , , ... Seas in New Zealand waters rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits and using generally south of Cape Egmont; elsewhere slight to moderate. Moderate to strong northerly winds in the eastern Tasman Sea, but a change to southerlies advancing from the west on to the central and southern portions; seas rough in the central and southern portions, moderate in the northern. xx , , « „ Weather fair to fine generally at first, but becoming unsettled in the 'xestei and southern portions of the South Island, with rain developing and extending gradually northward over districts with a westerly aspect.
