MORNING TEA
Navy League Auxiliary Entertained Lady Shirtcliffe gave a delightful morning tea at her home in Tinakori Road yesterday to entertain the committee of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Navy League, and bid farewell to. Mrs. Patrick Marshall, who will leave for England on March 17. The drawingroom was beautifully decorated with bowls of hydrangeas in shades of pink and blue. In the dining-room, where tea was served, pink roses were used most effectively. Lady :Shirtcliffe received in a smart gown of floral marocain, and the guest of honour wore navy blue with a wine red hat. Mrs. Morton Paterson assisted with the : morning tea. After tea, Mrs. L. O. H. Tripp, president of the auxiliary, spoke appreciatively of Mrs. Marshall’s work as honorary ’secretary, and made her a presentation of a book. Among those present were Mesdames L. O. H. Tripp, C. Larnach, A. Walker, Hansford, Johnston, Middleton, Howard Reid, Seymour, Blaekie, Morton Paterson, F. H. Whatley, R. D. Oliver, J. S. Head, Geoffrey Goodwin, R. Cochrane, P. Hanna, Sinclair Thompson, C. E. Adams and Miss Cable.
Mrs. C. K. Wilson, Pio Pio, and Mrs. Noel Adams, Wharekawa, Clevedon, Dominion officials of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, will arrive in Hawke’s Bay next week and will address meetings in various parts ofthe district. They have expressed a desire , to meet members -of other women’s organisations also. Mrs. F. W. Perry, Blytheswood Flats, left this week to take up her residence in Sydney. ' 1
