A REVIVER FOR PERENNIAL SWEET PEAS

Perennial sweet peas are beginning to look a bit tously. The offenders are the first-formed shoots, which have bloomed for a considerable period and are now finished. Allowed to remain, these shoots will absorb so much food that the younger side-shoots arising toward their base will just amble on without flowering. Cut them out and give the youngsters their chance to show what they can do. In a week or two the plants will delight you with a show of bloom which will compare favourably with the first.
