CITY RATES
Penalty After Tuesday Next Tuesday next, March 15, is the last date for payment of Wellington city jutes before the penalty is imposed and the corporation officials emphas se the necessity of early payment in order to avoid inconvenience to ratepayers. During the past three days no less a sum than £31.000 has been received on account of rates, and it is anticipated that during the remaining period before the imposition of the penalty the dally takings will be considerable.
