■Sir James Allen, Dunedin, is visiting Wellington.

Mr. E. W. Birch returned to Wellington yesterday after visiting the South Island.

- Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Shtlfcnon, Wellington, left last night on a visit to Auckland.

Dr. J. B. Dawson, Dunedin, arrived at Wellington by steamer express yesterday.

The Rev. and MrA. A. W. Stirce, Oamaru, were passengers to M ellington by yesterday’s steamer express. Colonel G. W. P. Grattan, chief secretary of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, was a passenger from Auckland by yesterday’s Limited express.

.Captain V. G. Webb, marine superintendent for the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand, Limited, arrived at Wellington yesterday from Auckland.

Dr. and Mrs. I. C. Maclntyre. Christchurch, arrived at Wellington from the south yesterday. They are to leave for England to-day. ,

Captain R. D. Oliver, second naval member of the New Zealand Naval Board, arrived at Wellington yesterday from Christchurch.

Mr. C. A. Furlong, of the Department of Internal Affairs, returned to Wellington yesterday after visiting Auckland.

Dr. Walter Hellenthal, consul for Germany in New Zealand, left Wellington for Auckland by the Limited express last night. He will return to Wellington on Sunday. Mr. R. H. Nimmo, of Hamilton Nimino and Sons, Ltd., Wellington, is to leave Wellington on April .1 and Auckland on April 4 by the Monterey on a business trip to the United States and Europe. He will meet business people with whom his firm has relations in the United States, Canada, England, Germany and Italy. As a member of the directorate of the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition Company, and chairman of the amusements committee, Mr. Nimmo will officially represent the company abroad. In that capacity he will note the work done at San Francisco and New York in preparation for the great exhibitions to be held there next year, and will attend the Glasgow Exhibition. In Britain he will meet the general manager of the company, Mr. C. P. Hainsworth, and together they will negotiate for the appearance at the forthcoming New Zealand Centennial Exhibition of successful amusements devices seen at the Glasgow Exhibition and elsewhere. While abroad, Mr. Nimmo will represent the Associated Chambers of Commerce of Ne v Zealand, the Wellington Chtrmber of Commerce, the Y.M.C.A., and the Wellington Burns Club. He has-hopes of attending a conference of the Federation of Burns Clubs in Scotland
