RETURN TO GERMANY

Former Crown Prince Venice, March 3. The former Crown Prince of Germany has left for Berlin. A cablegram from London on February 10 reported that the former Crown Prince of Germany had quitted the country on the eve of Herr Hitler’s recent purge and arrived at Kufstein, on the Austro-Ger-man frontier, without a passport. He said he was going to Italy, and the authorities allowed him to proceed after he had been identified and provided with an escort of two officers. He was permitted to enter Italy without a passport, and proceeded' to Cortina. Subsequently he stated : “I certainly intend to return to Germany. The matter of a passport was an accident; my valet forgot it. • I am here for the winter sports.”
