ANGLO-IRISH TALKS

Discussions Resumed In London (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, March 3. The President of the Executive of Eire, Mr. De Valera, returned to London, accompanied by other Ministers to resume the conversations with United Kingdom Ministers on trade matters. If the present progress with the trade talks continues Mr. De Valera and his colleagues may leave London on Friday night. It is understood that to-day’s AngloIrish discussions ranged over a wide field, including partition, defence, trade and finance. It is believed that on the partition question there was no change in the position of the two sides, which has already been made clear. A trade agreement has not yet been reached, and the discussions on this matter will continue to-morrow. In well-informed quarters no breakdown In the negotiations is expected. The Ministers on both sides concerned stated that the President of Eire, Mr. De Valera, and his Ministers will remain in London over the weekend.
