Congregational Union Of New Zealand The fifty-fifth annual assembly of the Congregational Union of New Zealand is to be held at Auckland from March 11 to 17. The programme includes conferences, religious services and social engagements, and will draw delegates from all over New Zealand. Next Friday, when the assembly begins, the executive committee of the Union and the Women’s L.M.S. Missionary auxiliary committee will hold meetings, and in the evening there will be a children’s demonstration. On Saturday there will be communion for delegates, followed by roll call and the induction of the new chairman, Rev. Arthur C. Nelson; afterward the council will deal with business matters. In the afternoon there will be an outing. On Sunday there will be church services, a youth rally and a basket tea. On Monday the council will sit, the New Zealand Federation of Congregational Women will meet, there will be a conference for men, and the college council will meet. Mr. Nelson will address a public meeting in the evening. The finance session of the council will take place on the Tuesday, and there will be a public conference. The youth department report will be taken on Wednesday, followed by a conference on youth work, and an L.M.S. session. In the evening the Rev. Norman Burgess will preach, followed by the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper. Thursday will be the last day of the assembly, when council business will be completed, and in the evening the ordination of Pastor John Gilkison will take place.
