SPORTING VERSE

“Saddles Again,” by Will H. Ogilvie (London: Duckworth.) Mr. Ogilvie has a well-deserved reputation for the writing of sporting verse, a reputation which should be enhanced by the issue of this new volume. His verse flows easily, the pictures it conjures up are vivid and the understanding it shows of animals and nature is deep. It is a book to interest all who have experienced the thrill of the hunt, drunk in the beauty of the scene from a hunter’s back, and felt the exhilaration of a flying gallop. Hounds and horses have a fitting laureate iu Mr. Ogilvie.
