Sympathetic reference, to the memory of th.e late Mr. A. B. Balfour, of Greytown, was made by the president of the Wairarapa Rifle Association, Mr. C. J. Nix, when addressing competitors before they went to the mounds for the annual meeting of the association at Trentham yesterday. Mr. Balfour, he said, had passed away since the last meeting. He was the association’s chief range officer for years, and had done great work for the association. Competitors stood with bowed heads for a few moments as a mark of respect.
