Inquest On Dunedin Man’s Death Dominion Special Service. Dunedin, February 23. A verdict that deceased died as the result.'of injuries caused through being crushed bj’ a truck he was driving when it accidentally capsized at Mihiwakq on January 29 was'returned by the coroner, Mr. J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., at an inquest to-day into the circumstances surrounding the death of Edmund Eugene Murphy, aged 26 years. •Murphy was driving a Defence Department lorry along the narrow road between Waifatl and Port Chalmers during' military manoeuvres when it skidded in loose gravel and capsized, Murphy receiving extensive injuries which proved fatal. Murphy, who was a single man, residing at Roslyn, was a storeman employed by Cadbury, Fry. Hudson Ltd. He had decided, however, to enter the police force and his application had, it is understood, been favourably considered. He was a well-known Rugby footballer. He was a prominent member of the Kalkorai club’s senior team and for the past five seasons had represented Otago.
