RAILWAY WAGONS DERAILED

Mishap At Mangatera Dominion Special Service. Dannevirke, I'ebruary 23. Five box wagons, containing chiefly fruit for export, were derailed at Mangatera railway yards, two miles from Dannevirke, at 10.30 last night. The cause is unknown. The train was a special gobds from Hastings to Wellington, consisting of 18 wagons. The derailed wagons were half-way along the train. One was completely wrecked and others damaged. The permanent way was damaged and the north-bound night goods service was interrupted, but to-day’s traffic was able to pass along the Mangatera loop. Work was still in progress on the main line this evening.
