Wellington.—lt was dull and misty in the early part of the morning, but it cleared, ajjd most of the day was fine and sugny yesterday. A moderate southerly prevailed. Wanganui.— Fine and sunny, with passing clouds and a light southerly wind. Sea smooth on Wanganui bar. Warm temperatures. At 5 p.m. the barometer was steady at 30.18 in. / Napier and Hastings.— Overcast, with a few very light showers. Warm temperatures. Waipukurau.—A bright euuny day, with a lower temperature, the maximum being 71deg. New Plymouth.— Very warm and sunny; barometer at 5 p.m. 30.00 in. Auckland.— Clear and sunny, with a moderate breeze from the north-east; maximum temperature TOdeg. The barometric pressure fell slightly in the afternoon, the reading at 5 p.m. being 30.07 in. , . Christchurch.— Fine, with passing clouds and little or no sun. The maximum temperature was 66.6 deg. A light wind blew from the east-north-east. ? The 5 p.m. reading of the barometer, which was steady, was 30.23 in. Dunedin.— Though heavy mist again enveloped the hills early this morning, conditions improved later and the sun shone practically throughout the day.
