Lyall Bay Surf Club The beach gala, day conducted by the Lyall Bay Surf Life-Saving Club on Sunday, in conjunction with the club’s beltman’s championship and the Levy Shield, paired a great success. The beach were conducted on the lines of those in Australia. The belt trials, which were held in the morninc, proved a triumph for F. Mollier, who returned fastest time to win the club’s individual title for the season. Fifteen entered for this event, and the placings were as follows: — F, Mollier, 2min. 45see., 1; L. MtKeeman, 2.46, 2; X. Stokes, 2.48, 3; \V. Bell, 4.0, 4; C. Stoddart, 3.12, 5. Teams of three were later decided by ballot, and the C team, N. Stokes, W. Bell, and C. Stoddart, was successful, in winning the beltmans’ trophy for 193738 The Levy Shield, a four-man alarm event, saw- six teams in action. The results were: — _ 0 team (J. Rawson, patient, S. Scoones, beltman, F. Mollier, linesman, W Griffen, reelman and captain), 91 points, 1; A team (K. Farey, N. Stokes, Ij. Laughton, J. Bell), <md B team Bell, D. Clark, H. Dixon, S.
