Start Before End Of Year By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, February 21. A definite statement that Qantas Airways, in conjunction with Imperial Airways, would control the transTasman air service was made on the Niagara this morning by Mr. J. Stubbs, superintending engineer of Australian National Airways, who is a through ■pasesnger to Vancouver. Flying-boats of the Centaurus type, he said, would be crossing the Tasman before the end of the year. Mr. Stubbs said he would not be surprised to see the crossing eventually made by land planes. He added that he was on a world tour to obtain the latest data in respect of flying services and planes.
