SENIOR COMPETITION DECLARED CLOSED

Christchurch Cricket

By Telegraph.—Press Association.

Christchurch, February 8.

Although there are still six or seven playing Saturdays in the season, the management committee of the Canterbury Cricket Association this evening took the unusual step of declaring the senior grade competition closed with Lancaster Park, which has scored 80 points to its nearest rival's 40, the champion side. A separate competition will be held for the rest of the season on lines similar to the competition just closed.
