Gisborne Ewe Fair
Dominion Special Service. Gisborne, February 2. At the second Gisborne ewe fair an entry of 21,655 came forward. Although many important station drafts are awaiting the third ewe fair, to-day's entry was highly creditable. The quality of the ewes' was uniformly good. Brisk competition created an excellent sale. Values were above those of the first ewe fair, and in the case of older ewes within striking distanc of forward sale values, expectations were exceeded, practically the total entry selling under the hammer. Quotations are as follows:— Six-year. 23/- to 23/8; five and sixvenr. 16/- to 22/3. several from 20/- upward. five-year, 18/- to 24/7. four and five-year, to 25/1. six-tooth. 23/-; fourtooths. 23/- to 28/9; four mid six-tooth. 22/3 to 2S/6; four, six and eight-tooth. 22/5 to 27/1 : two-tooths, Panikau Station (best, price), 34/-.
