“REALLY SHOULD GO TO JAIL”

Wanting To Young Man “You really should go to jail for this; if you had any previous convictions I would send you there without the option,’’ said Air. H. P. Lawry, S.M., in the Magistrates’ Cpurt, Petone, yesterday, to Archibald Thomas Begbie, freezing works employee, who was charged with using obscene language in the foyer of the State Theatre, Petone. “I understood this has been coming to him for a long time,” said Senior-Ser-geant H. C. D. Wade. Begbie went to the theatre at the interval and asked what film was showing. He then used bad language and refused to leave on request. A scuffle ensued between the theatre manager and Begbie. There were women and children in the foyer and in the adjoining sweetshop. Begbie was drunk. "If you get into trouble like this again you go to jail without the option,’ said Mr. Law'ry to Begbie when imposing a fine of £5.
