Breakers
yOD are far out in deep water and X about to embark on a magic journey. At the beginning of your magic journey you see a great wall of blue-green water towering above you. It mounts stil higher and you put out your arms and are borne in, half-submerged. You open your eyes and discover yourself in a hurrying whirl of pale, translucent green with bubbles all about you. You come up for a breath and a moment’s respite from the roar in your ears. Then suddenly the green wall totters and crashes, and you are tossed on a tide of . creamy, bubbly foam. You are borne in. unresisting, until the tremendous force abates ami you are left in shallow water, a discarded plaything of the sea. You shake the rainbow drops from your face and tout magic journey on a breaker is ended.— Original, by Annie Laurie (15), Wellington.
