Rain Ends First Match SIDE SEEMED ASSURED OF WIN By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received January 27, 9.25 p.m.) Sydney, January 27. The first match of the tour of the New Zealand women cricketers, against New South Wales juniors, was washed out by torrential rain in the middle of the afternoon, when the New Zealanders appeared to be assured of a win. Miss Hatcher played a sparkling innings with shots all round the wicket. She was particularly strong on the leg side, where she hit most of her eight boundaries.
