January Realisations At Wellington BIG DECREASE SHOWN Official Compilation Of Results The wool cheque for the second Wellington sale of this season, held on January 10, totalled £404,536/4/4, which is over £3-10,000 below the return from the January sale of the 1936-37 season, but higher than that of the 1935-36 season January sale. At the January sale last year 30,724 bales were offered, of which 30,699 bales were sold, and 25 bales passed in. The total gross realisation was £746,007 9/11, the average price per bale £24 6/-, and the average per lb. 16.313 d. The two sales held in Wellington so far this season have realised a total of £688,463, compared with £1,396.670 for the December-January sales of last season, £725,501 for the 1935-36 season and £333,601 for the 1934-35 season. The average price per bale for the December sale this season was £l5 7/10, and the average per lb. 10.434 d., the comparatively low realisation of £283,926/13/2 being largely due to the smallness of the offering, 20,244 bales, and the quantity sold, 18,445 bales.
