Work With A Happy Cast
WHEN Lloyd Hughes was made a presentation by the studio staff at Cinesound before he returned to America, he returned thanks in a speech that was full of feeling. Never before, be said, had he made a picture under .such happy conditions as when he worked with the Cinesound staff on “Lovers and Luggers” and “The Broken Melody.” They were a grand lot of people, he said, as were the artists associated with the two productions Similar sentiments were expressed ] by other members of rhe cast, and many of them visited the studio after their work was completed. One of these was Rosalind Rennerdale. “I don't like leaving the place,” she said. "I am going to ask Mr. Ken Hall if he will give me a job as a carpenter or something. so that I can just stick around. In any case I’m certainly going to visit the studio often.” “Come whenever you tike.” Mr. Hall invited her. A newspaper representative who was visiting the studio at the time asked Miss Rennerdale why she felt that way. "Because,” she said, "they are such a line lot of people to work with, so friendly and helpful, and so enthusiasI tic about their work. And what grand work they have been doing lately.” And Ciuesound’.s director is very pleased with Miss Rennerdale’s work as the French prima donna —a part which it was thought would be hard to fill. But, as in.the ease of the part of Captain Quid in "Lovers and Luggers,” in which Sydney Wheeler proved a real 1! “find,” $o with rhe prima donna in “The Broken Melody." Cinesound had the good fortune to discover just the right player.
