ATHLETICS COACH

New Programme Adopted The/special committee appointed by the executive of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Centre to organise the work of Mr. Al L. Fitch, the centre’s coach, has now discussed the question with him and drawn up a new coaching programme. It provides for him to make use of bis slow-motion films of world-famous athletes in action, oue of which was shown to the members of the New Zealand team for the Empire Games on the eve of their departure. The clubs have already been asked to appoint coaches to work under the supervision of Mr. Fitch, and he will ’devote Monday nights to their instruction at the Wellington College ground. After taking about three events from 7 to 9 o’clock, he will exhibit action The programme for the coaching of athletes will lie as follows:— Tuesdays, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., track events, at Hataitai. ■ ■ Wednesdays, 6 p.m. to 9 p.iu., at. Petone or Lower Hutt. Thursdays, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., held events, at Hataitai; lectures and action films in the gymnasium. Fridays, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., general coaching at Wellington College. The films will be shown by Mr. Fitcn at Hataitai to-night. . The coaching committee consisted of Messrs F Bond, chairman of the executive, A. H. Hill, A. Hose, D. C. Pedersen and W. Watt.
