It is expected that these transfer* will bo followed by others and that this initiative will not be the last of the humanitarian efforts in which British representatives will participate during the Spanish war. SUBMARINE ATTACK Torpedo Fired At British Steamer Malta. January 25. A submarine is reported to have attacked without warning the British steamer Lake Geneva in the Eastern Mediterranean, firing a torpedo from 300 yards which passed under the steamer. The submarine came to the surface and then submerged. A message from Valencia says that the master of the Lake Geneva confirms the attack. NEGRO TROOPS Teruel Reinforcements Gibraltar, January 25. Two thousand negroes from Ifni. Spanish Morocco, landed at Cadiz. They have been sent to reinforce the Moors at Teruel. They are grotesquely decorated and wear nose-rings.
