BOWLING CARNIVAL

New Zealand Rinks Are Eliminated FOURS CHAMPIONSHIPS (Received January .19, 11.5 p.m.) ' Sydney, January 19. Tile bowling carnival was resinned to-day after overnight rain in sultry weather, with the play-off by the sectional winners in the fours championships. Forty-six fours were eligible, including two New Zealand rinks, both of whom were beaten.

At the city green the New Zealander Wilkinson’s rink was defeated, 17-12, by a rink from Orange, New .South Wales, skippered by Curran, who is a leading State player. At Waverley the New Zealander Robertson’s rink went down 20-9 to a Victorian four, led by Crocker. Later Curran’s link was eliminated, 17-16, and Crocker’s rink won, 13-11. Qualifiers for the semi-finals of the fours championship play-off on January 20. The first three rounds of the singlehanded championship, in which a number of New Zealanders are engaged, is being played to-morrow.
