Contracts Approved By

FIVE FOR LOWER HUTT
Cabinet has approved of a number of tenders, including those for, 51 houses, in connection with the activities of the Department of Housing Construction, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Housing, Mr. J. A. Lee, announced yesterday. Details are:—
LOWER HUTT.—A further contract comprising five houses, two of which are semi-detached, has beeiit awarded to 'Wilfred E. Jones Ltd. STRATFORD.—A contract, comprising two single house units for erection at Stratford, has been awarded to Boon Bros.
NELSON.—A further contract, comprising three houses for erection at Nelson, has been awarded to J. IL Greenem.
OTAHUHU — A contract for the erection of 11 houses at Otahuhu has been awarded to T. Clements, and a contract for the erection of 12 houses, two of which are semi-detached, has been awarded to A. G. Grinter. MORRINSVILLE.—A contract for the erection of three houses at Morrinsville has been awarded to C. Franich.
CHRISTCHURCH.—A contract comprising eight houses for erection at Christchurch, has been awarded to P. Graham and Son. A contract, comprising four houses, has been awarded to T. E. Marriott, a contract for two houses to Moir Ltd., and a contract for one house to TV. V. Smith, a total of 15 houses. A tender has been accepted for asphalting footpaths on the housing scheme at Spreydon. PALMERSTON NORTH—A contract for sanitary and stormwater sewers in connection with the Palmerston North housing scheme lias been awarded to A. F. Cole. NEW PLYMOUTH.-—A contract for a reading and storm-water drainage job in connection with the New Plymouth housing scheme has been awarded to Fitzroy Quarries Ltd.
