HIGH TEMPERATURES IN WAIKATO

By Telegraph —Press association Hamilton, January 17. Not for many years has such continued hot weather been experienced in Hamilton, and yesterday the thermometer reading in the shade was 94 degrees. Saturday’s reading in Hamilton was 93 degrees, .while during the week an average of over SO degrees has been experienced. In other parts of the Waikato district the temperature has been close on 100 degrees. Up to the present the district has been free of peat fires usually associated with dry spells, and no eases have been reported of haystacks catching fire under the intense heat.
