FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
Cool, Changeable And Showery, But Improving Gradually.
Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. to-day:—
The last of.the recent series of depressions is passing off the Dominion and an anti-cyclone centred over the western Tasman Sea is advancing eastward.
Moderate to strong south-westerly to southerly winds, reaching gale force at places, but gradually decreasing, later veering to westerly or northwesterly in the far south.
Seas in New Zealand waters rough south of East Cape and north of Farewell Spit, but later decreasing; elsewhere moderate. Moderate to strong south-westerly winds in the eastern Tasman Sea, veering to westerly in the southern portion; seas rough but decreasing. • Weather cool and changeable, with scattered showers in most districts, but gradually improving.
