Rutherford, “Glenmoran,” Alasterton, announce the engagement of their daughter, Helen. Joau, to Terence Henry Falloon, “Bowlands,” Bideford, Alasterton. Mrs.’ Anstis, the well-known Palmerston North croquet player, who was to have taken part in lhe North Island championships, partnered with Mrs. Caldow in the doubles, has had the misfortune t obreak a bone in her wrist, and will be unable to play for some little time. ■ A tablespoon of chopped mint cooked with vegetable soup imparts a delicious flavour to the dish.
