“OVER SHE GOES”

New Musical Comedy Company

G.eorge Gee, the popular London comedian, who will make his reappearance in AVellington at the New Opera House on Saturday night, together with J. G. Williamson’s new musical comedy company, in the musical play "Over She Goes,” told an interviewer in Australia recently that he was looking forward to his return to New Zealand to renew acquaintance with the many friends he made on and off the stage in the Dominion. Mr. Gee was received with enthusiasm when lie made his reappearance in Auckland recently, and it was generally conceded in that city that he had never previously been seen to such advantage as in “Over She Goes." in which he has a role that suits him admirably. Auckland critics stated that he was funnier than ever before.

Miss Valerie Hay, the new leading lady, also created quite an impression with Auckland playgoers. This goldenhaired lady ■ danees, sings, gambols, and does all the other things required of a musical comedy leading lady. Mr. Donald Burr, the leading juvenile artist of the company, is said to be a typical matinee idol—handsome, alert and with an engaging and infectious smile. Another brilliant artist is Aliss Billie Worth, as dark as Aliss Hay is fair, and an expert tap dancer. Percy Le Fre, a talented English . light comedian and dancer, assists George Gee in the comedy scenes. Wellington playgoers will he glad to welcome the reappearance of the charming young Australian soubrette Lois Green, who lias scored a distinct success in "Over She Goes.” AVilliam O’Neal, who comes from America, has a rich tenor voice which is heard to great advantage. Others in the cast of “Over She Goes" are Enid Hollins. Tommy Jay. John Dobbie. Viviene Arnold, Phil Smith,. Kenneth Tuckfield and an Australian ballet and operatic chorus.

It is said that the frocking is the best that the J. C. Williamson Ltd. management has produced for many years. "Over She Goes” has everything that the musical comedy fan requires to appease his appetite. “Over She Goes” will be presented at New Plymouth to-morrow night, at AVnnganui on AA’ednesday night, at Palmerston North on Thursday night, and at Hastings on Friday The box plans for the AVellington season of the company will open on AVednesduy morning
