The Saros wreck was sold cheaply for about £7O to a fisherman and guest-house-keeper, Mr. David Allan, of Alttllacoota. His tender did not include the cargo.

The steamer Saros. of 3301 tons, owned by Australian Steamships. Ltd., went ashore at Cape Everaril. Eastern Victoria, 300 miles from Melbourne, in a dense fog one night last December.
