AMERICANS BEATEN

Doubles In Tennis Test QUIST’S FINE DISPLAY By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright, (Received December 17, 8.45 p.m.) Sydney, December 17. The doubles niatch in the tennis Test between America and Australia to-day resulted:— A. K. Quist and J. 11. Bromwich (Australia) beat D. J. Budge and C. G. Mako (America), 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-2. A feature of the niatch was the remarkable display by Quist, who, with Bromwich badly out of touch, rose to great heights. His service carried a lot of pace, while his return of service and volleys were superb. Many of his dazzling interceptions left the Americans standing. Budge and Mako made more errors from ground strokes than was expected from the champions, but they were frequently forced into errors by Qvi<t’s speedy shots.
