Attacks On Foreign Ships To Be Expected
(Received December 17, 5.30 p.m.) Berlin, December 10. With similarity suggestive of official Inspiration, three Berlin newspapers suggest that attacks on foreign warships are to be expected if they are in a zone of hostilities. The "Borsen-Zeitung’’ says: "Incidents can best be avoided if people observe the elementary lesson of war and neutrals will keep away from the zone of hostilities.’’ The “Volkischer Beobachter’’ asks: "Does a neutral ever expect a bloody struggle to cease at any spot where he happens to turn up?” AMERICAN LABOUR Boycott Of Japanese Goods (Received December 17, 7.20 p.m.) New York, December 16. The president of the American Federation of Labour, Mr. William Green, has instructed unions affiliated with the federation immediately to make effective the boycott of Japanese goods.
