The reduction of noise in traffic is under consideration by the Transport. Department, which is obtaining information on the matter from other countries, according to a statement madeby the Minister of Transport. Hon. R. Semple, at Christchurch. The department, he said, was in touch with countries overseas where the general use of horns hail been stopped and silencers were made compulsory on motor-cycles, and all hough there were no definite measures in view at present a large amount of information was being collected.
