AIR FORCE FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA

Five Flying-Boats Leave Plymouth

ONE LANDS BEFORE BERRE

IS REACHED

By Telegraph.—Press. Assn.—Copyright. (Received December 3, 5.5 p.m.) London, December 3. There is no official explanation of the failure to reach Marseilles of one of the five Royal Air Force flying-boats which took off for Australia from Plymouth yesterday in fine weather. Apparently it was making slower speed and fell astern. The “News Chronicle” says it was felt that it would not be able to reach Berre before dark and hence alighted at Hourtin.
