It is desired that applicants should be fully qualified medical practitioners. The duties include the inspection and report on school buildings in regard to overcrowding, cleanliness, sanitation, lighting and ventilation ; routine medical inspection of school children; addresses to the children of the upper standards and periodic lectures on the health of children to teachers, parents and the general public.
