STORY OF A DOG

“Turned Adrift,” the story of a dog, by Essen Hope. Illustrated from drawings by Stanislaus Brien (London: Cape). This story has no pretensions, and is very simply told, but it is beautifully illustrated and certainly will appeal to all dog-lovers. Garry, the puppy whose story is told, is a corgi from the banks of the Wye. He begins life very happily as the playmate of a small boy, but small boys grow bigger and have to be sent to school. Then the corgi changes hands several limes and at last is turned adrift on the moors in the January cold because his licence is duo. The description of I lie dog's home to which he is finally taken is heartrending. However, Garry is rescued and is taken to end his days in luxury, gojtha&jha at least has tt ending!.
