MOTORISTS INJURED
Collision On Moonshine Road WEEK-END ACCIDENTS Two occupants of a baby car were injured when their vehicle collided with a motor-lorry at a corner on the Moonshine Road, connecting Upper Hutt with Pahautanui, at midday yesterday. They were Miss O. Bowie, milliner, 53 Adelaide Street, Petoue, who received a broken leg and injuries to her left hand, and her face, and Mr. O. B. Roberts, clerk, 142 Washington Avenue, Brooklyn, who was severely cut on the head. They were taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance. Later Mr. Roberts was able to leave the institution. Miss Bowie’s condition was reported late last night to be quite satisfactory. Marjory Elgar, child, 29 Cornford Street, Karori, was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance with a fractured right arm and an injury to her left leg, received when she was knocked down by a motor-truck’ on Saturday afternoon. A fractured right collarbone was received by a child of 11 years, David Lipscombe, 19 Sugarloaf Road, when his cycle collided with a car shortly after 7 o’clock on Saturday evening. He was admitted to hospital. Early ou Saturday evening the Free Ambulance took C. Olsen, labourer, 67 Rolleston Street, to hospital to receive treatment for concussion received when he fell down a flight of steps at his home. Mrs. E. Baker, Davis Street, received wounds to her scalp when she fell at 97 Brittomart Street at 4 a.m. on Sunday. She was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance. Knocked down by a motor-car on the Hutt Road a quarter of a mile north of Kaiwarra, late on Friday night, Mr. W. Mcßae, waterside worker, Wells Street, Johnsonville, received concussion of the brain and a contused wound on the head, as well as a severe wound on the right leg. He was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance.
