Big River Report
Big River Gohl Mines, Limited, report for the week ending November 25:—No. 4 level, centre stope: North of the winze the stone made back into the footwall for about 4ft. deep aud 6ft. long. This has been taken out and am now carrying the stope south on stoue about 3ft. Gin. wide. South block, intermediate stope: Over a length of 20ft. this stope came in from sft. 6iu. wide underneath to about 2ft. Gin. wide overhead, but indications are that it will widen going up. There is still some stone in the north cud to take out. No. 5 level, south block stope: The stoue has been taken out and we arc now starting to mullock up before rising for. another stope. No. 5 level, south winze: This was sunk 2£t. to 16ft. Gin. with stone showing across the soutli end and along the hanging wall side. North drive: This was advanced 10ft„ the first 6ft. averaging 4ft. Gin. wide when some faulting had taken place, pinching the stone into about 2ft. wide with the face noiv showing 3ft. of stone overhead and about Ift. underneath/ There is now 26ft. of stone averaging 4ft. wide in this new block and water is still making over the full length of the stone; 120 tons of stone were delivered to the surface bins.
Victoria Nyanza Sugar
The Victoria Nyanza Sugar Co.. Ltd., have advised the Wellington Stock Exchange that for the season to October 10, 50,309.935 tons of cane were crushed ; sugar bagged totalled 4059.5 tons, and sugar in process 136.48 tons.
