Friday’s closing prices for the following raw materials were as follows, those for November 17 being shown in parentheses :— Cotton: Liverpool quotation, good American middling, spot, 4.64 d. a lb. (4.55 d. ; December delivery, 4.51 d. a lb. (4.39 d. Rubber: Para, lid. a lb. (7 5-Bd.) ; plantation smoked ribbed sheet, 7 1-Sd. a lb. (6 15-16 d.). Jute: December-January shipment, Indian jute. Dundee quotation, £2O/1/3 a ton (£2O/12/6). Copra: December-January shipment, sun-dried South Sea, to London or Rotterdam, £l2/7/6 a ton (£l3/2/6) ; smoked, to Marseilles or Genoa, £l2/7/6 a ton (not quoted); plantation, Rabaul to London or Rotterdam. £l3/2/6 a ton (£l3 _ Linseed oil: £2B/10/- a ton (£29/5/-). Turpentine: 31/- a cwt. (31/6).
