DISTINCTIVE FLAG
New Zealand Naval Board A distinctive flag has been authorised for the New Zealand Naval Board in conformity with the precedents established for naval boards of other Dominions. The flag came into use as from November 25. The design consists of the Admiralty anchor in gold placed horizontally in the centre of a flag of red and blue bisected vertically, the red portion being nearest to the staff. The flag is flown in ships only when the Naval Board is embarked. The flag, which has been flying during the last few days on the A.P.A. building in which the offices of the Naval Board are situated, has attracted much attention. The New* Zea land Naval Board flag differs from that of the Australian Naval Board, ■which carries the Admiralty anchor in gold on the horizontal bands of red and blue, the red being uppermost.
The flag of the British Board of the /Admiralty is all red, with the anchor placed horizontally in the centre.
