DOG FILM STAR
“Caesar’s” Preference For Blondes ••Caesar has a preference for blondes, but; he is popular with all the Hollywood stars,” said Mr. H. H. Tonks, owner, manager and trainer of the alsalian dog film star, when he arrived at Wellington yesterday in the Av,-atea from Sydney. Caesar, who is said to be the only dog to be starred in a first release film since the talkies, does all his acting at. the command of his master, who uses signs to direct him. It took only three months for Caesar to learn how to respond to signs instead of spoken commands, and the tense atmosphere of the Hollywood production sets does not affect him in the least. Ho is tlio star in “Trailing the Killer,” a picture that is to be released in New Zealand on a Fuller-Hayward circuit. At each performance of the picture Caesar will appear in a 15-niinute prologue on the stage with his master. He performed at 505 theatres in Australia and his tour of New Zealand will include appearances at 64 theatres.
