BOYS’ GRIM PRANK

Los Angeles Explosion

Los Angeles, November 9.

Two Bible students, aged 17, who were found severely injured on the roof of the Angelus Temple, confessed that they carried powder on to the roof for a fireworks display because they wanted a little excitement. One of them struck a match prematurely, causing an explosion. It was a grim prank. One of the youths had his hand blown off at the wrist, and the other was severely burned. The damage to the temple was confined to the windows. The excitement in the neighbourhood was great. First reports to the police were to the effect that the temple had been bombed. Three girls in an adjoining school fainted.
