Sy 'Telegraph—Press Association. Timaru, November 11. The annual erieket matches between the Timaru and Waitaki Boys’ High Schools’ first and second elevens opened to-day in brilliant wegther. In the senior match Waitaki batted first, scoring 234 (Andrew 62, Blakeley 43, Tilbury 24, Mee 23). Timaru made a poor response, being all out for 109 (W. McLeod 43). Watson took four for 33, Tilbury two for 6, Houghton two for 2, and Cameron two for 22, In the junior game Timaru made 121 and Waitaki 195. At stumps Timaru had lost three wickets for 5 in their second innings.
