Even when visiting Palmerston North yesterday, the mayor of Wellington, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, was unable to escape the WellingtonAuckland controversy. “Mr. Hislop is a busy man and has been busier recently defending Wellington against Auckland as a seaplane base, said tiie mayor of Palmerston North, Mr. A. E. Mansford, with a smile, when extending a welcome to Mr. Hislop. “I can assure him that Palmerston North and the surrounding counties support him in the claims that he Is putting forward on behalf of Wellington.'’
