ALEXANDRA HOME
Resignation Of Miss Janet Morgan
Miss Janet. Morgan, M.8.E., has forwarded to the committee of the Alexandra Home her resignation, after eighteen years’ devoted service as matron of the hospital and home. This was received with deepest regret at the monthly meeting of the committee. Members expressed their apprecia-
tion of what Miss Morgan has accomplished during these years, also their conviction that the position held today by the Alexandra Hospital is largely due to the quality of her ability and character. The large and well-equipped modern building, which now gives, the public valued service as a maternity hospital, has been built during the later years of Miss Morgan’s term of office, and her judgment and experience were invaluable in the arrangements for this extension. Mrs. T. E. Corkill and the committee, who acknowledge most gratefully Miss Morgan’s fine services, hope that a complete rest may restore her. to health.
The appointment has now to be made of her successor, and this is being advertised in the newspapers. A sister Is also needed, Sister Willis having accepted a position at Palmerston North. Her resignation was received with regret. She was thanked for the good work she had done for the institution. Various donations were gratefully acknowledged.
It was mgntioned at the meeting that the fees paid b,v the married women nursed in the hospital help to finance the work for the girls that is carried on in the other building; thus making a very complete piece of community service.
