Sydney Girl Secretary To Annabella
“ANNABELLA, the French film actress, is charming, and so simple and unaffected,” said Miss Eleanor Martin, of Cremorne Point, Sydney, who returned home a couple of weeks ago, after almost four years abroad, during which she studied classical dancing and painting in Paris. For several weeks Miss Martin acted as Annabella’S*secretary at. the film star’s villa at Le Pillet, near Biarritz. “Actually, I did no secretarial work, and my job was to talk English to Annabella so that she could add to her knowledge of the language,” explained Miss Martin. “She already spoke English well, and was extremely charming to me. When visitors came she used to introduce me to them as her “little Australian.’ “Annabella’s villa is large, and cream and green in colour,” Miss Martin said. “It has a magnificent view of the sea, and the surroundings are planted with beautiful old pine trees. Annabella is very young and very pretty, of medium height, with natural blonde hair.”
