SCOTS COLLEGE LIBRARY REVIEW
A copy of the first issue of “The Scots College Library Review” has been received by "The Dominion.” In an editorial it is explained that the object of the publication is- to compile, year by year, a number of reviews of volumes in the Alderson Memorial Library, the ultimate ambition being to have every book of note on the shelves reviewed, and every review the work of a schoolboy.. It is felt that, for a schoolboy, a criticism of a book by a contemporary should be of special interest and that the practice of reading critically should be of inestimable value to the reviewers themselves. It is hoped, too. that the review will offer scope for literary work, and, as an encouragement, the headmaster has offered two prizes, one for prose and the other for verse.
